Confident In Rematch, Thompson Says, 'Woodley at his best couldn't defeat me'

Top ranked UFC welterweight contender Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson isn’t going to let his second opportunity at UFC gold slip through his grasps. Thompson battled for twenty-five minutes with the champion Tyron Woodley at UFC 205 but when the smoke cleared the fight was ultimately ruled a draw.

Woodley and Thompson will now get to run it back when they meet again at UFC 209 this March, but “Wonderboy” is even more confident this time around. In fact, he says he’s already felt Woodley’s best and plans on showing the champ what he can really do in their rematch.

“It fuels me know that I wasn’t at my best, while Tyron was at his best, he hit me with his best shots, had a deep guillotine choke on me and still couldn’t finish me, so that gives me the fuel and fire to get out there and do it again. To train as hard as I can knowing that,” said Thompson on the UFC Unfiltered Podcast via MMAmania.
