Ferguson Knows Conor's Never Defended A Belt In His Life … Here's His Reaction

“UFC 209” will finally see Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov go head-to-head inside the octagon for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship in the absence of current champion Conor McGregor. The Irish champion will be taking quite a bit of time off to tend to his growing family, and Ferguson is not confident McGregor will ever come back to defend his championship.

McGregor, the owner of four championships throughout his short career, has yet to defend any of his belts once. McGregor has since vacated the featherweight championship, and Ferguson told MMA Junkie he isn’t confident he’ll be coming back to defend the gold:

“Who knows if ‘McNuggets’ is going to come in there and defend his belt. That poor bastard has never defended even one belt in his entire life. If he’s trying to box – I will go toe-to-toe with that motherf*****, and I will knock him out. That dude is going to try to go with Mayweather, the Olympic boxer? It’s okay, son. It’s a completely different sport. Come back over here, 155-pound division and defend your belt if you’re really man enough.”
