Jacare: ‘I’d be upset if Anderson skipped me over for a title shot’

The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s middleweight division may be one of the more stacked weight classes in the company considering how many fighters think they are next in line for a title shot. Champion Michael Bisping has been fielding challenges for months now and after he comes back from nursing his injury, he will have a long line of fighters to choose from as an opponent.

Sitting in the front of that line will likely be Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza who has been patiently waiting for his shot at the gold. Fellow teammate Anderson Silva may have his eyes on the gold as well, however, and “Jacare” informed MMA Fighting he’d be upset if Silva got the nod instead of him:

“Friendship continues. I’d definitely be upset because I’m the next in line. I’m not a hypocrite and say ‘Oh, cool.’ No, it’s not cool at all. I’d be super upset, but God blessed him. Man, God really likes Anderson because he does many things and almost everything works. Even when he does it wrong, it’s right after all. I want to be friends with a guy that is so loved by God.”
