Nick Diaz Releases Never-Before-Seen Backstage Footage From His Personal Archives

Nick Diaz fought six times for Strikeforce, went 6-0, won the welterweight championship and successfully defended the title on three occasions.

On Wednesday, the embattled UFC star released a random video on his You Tube page showing pre-fight activities before his 180-pound catchweight bout against Scott Smith June 2009 in St. Louis. Diaz won the bout by third-round submission.

The video shows Diaz going under some medicals, signing an autograph for a fan, taking some pictures and signing fight posters.

The end of the video was interesting when Diaz and a confidante were walking through a lobby and the confidante was talking about Strikeforce matchmaker Rich Chou asking him if they were burning up (marijuana reference).

Diaz hasn’t fought since his loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 183 in Jan. 2015. He was suspended after the fight for marijuana metabolites. The Stockton, CA native came off suspension in August. UFC president said Diaz has been offered fights with Robbie Lawler and Demian Maia. White claimed Diaz turned down Lawler and never heard back about Maia.
