ONE’s Kamal Shalorus Is Eyeing A Title Shot After His Next Win

Former UFC and WEC veteran Kamal Shalorus wants to be a champion in ONE FC.

Shalorus will headline ONE’s next event ONE Championship: Throne of Tigers on Feb. 10 in Malaysia. He will fight Ev Ting in a lightweight fight.

“Ev is a good fighter, but he never fought a tough guy like me,” Shalorus said. “He has never faced a fighter like me. I am going to put him in the cold water, and he has never experienced a fight in cold water.

“I am going to win, I am going to knock him down, I am going to choke him and after that, I am going to go after Eduard Folayang.”

Shalorus has a decision win over current ONE Lightweight Champion Eduard Folayang in 2013.

Shalorus has not competed in MMA for well over two years. In his last fight, he was submitted by then ONE Lightweight Champion Shinya Aoki.

Folayang defeated Aoki by TKO in November to win the ONE lightweight title.

Shalorus was on a two-fight win streak in ONE before fighting for the title. Before joining ONE, Shalorus fought for the WEC and UFC. He was unbeaten in the WEC with three wins and a draw. In the UFC, Shalorus lost all of his fights when he fought a murder’s row of Jim Miller, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Rafael dos Anjos.
