Rumor: Chuck Liddell Is Eyeing A Comeback Following UFC Termination

Chuck Liddell retired after getting viciously knocked out by Rich Franklin at UFC 115 in June 2010 for his third consecutive defeat by KO/TKO.

After the fight, Dana White named Liddell the UFC executive vice president of business development. In the beginning of December, the new owners of the UFC, WME-IMG laid off 10-15 employees and one of those was the “Iceman”.

With nothing to do, could we see the former UFC light heavyweight champion making a return to the cage?

On Monday’s edition of “The MMA Hour“, heavyweight Derrick Lewis, who main events UFC Fight Night 105 against Travis Browne stated that he heard the MMA legend is coming back to the sport.

“Who is Chuck Liddell fighting now?”, Lewis said on the show to host Ariel Helwani. “I heard that he is coming back.”

Helwani said he didn’t hear about that. Lewis retorts, “Oh, you didn’t hear that.”

It is just RUMOR as of right now. Liddell hasn’t spoken out on Lewis’ comments. If more comes out on the story, MMAImports.com will be on top of the story.
