UFC’s Felice Herrig Executes Arial Splits To Perfection — Look!

Felice Herrig, the “Little Bulldog”, walked into the octagon at “UFC Fight Night 104” as the ultimate underdog opposite of the undefeated Alexa Grasso. Herrig put in the work from the very first round to ultimately come out on top in her main card fight, however, and got her hands raised in victory.

She proceeded to call out one of the more popular fighters in her weight class in Paige VanZant, hoping to prove that her loss to the Team Alpha Male fighter in 2015 was a fluke.

Herrig is no stranger to having to overcome the odds, and she posted the following on her Instagram to prove she’s been doing that all her life:

“Before I was a fighter I did track and gymnastics… My events- high jump , long jump , triple jump , & the 200 yard dash
Gymnastics- all around
Although my parents didn’t have the money to put me In gymnastics as a child it was always my sport of choice and dream to be a gymnast .
I competed in gymnastics my freshman and sophomore year with no prior experience. Because of my natural strength, flexibility and no fear attitude I advanced quickly and did advanced level moves it took other girls years to get. My very first meet I got first place for all-around.
But with these advanced skills I was learning I had never learned the basics like ” break falling” which caused me to break my arm my Freshman and sophomore year. The second time being a compound fracture. Which is how I got the 2 scars on my right forearm. I have 2 metal plates and 12 pins in it now.
After my sophomore year I had to choose between sports or work. Because I had to pay for things most parents pay for for their children I had to work.
It’s because of feeling cheated out of ever being able to really see what I could do in sports that I started fighting at age 18 and became very determined to make something of myself.
