Fundraiser Launched To Help Bring Home Fighter Who Died Cutting Weight

On Sunday, Scottish Muay Thai kick boxer Jordan Coe was found dead. As Coe was found in a sweatsuit, police believe that a heat stroke prompted Coe’s early death.

The boxer’s coach later revealed that Coe was attempting to lose weight for an upcoming fight.

Now, a crowd funding fundraiser has been created to shore up money to bring the Scottish fighter home and to support the family’s funeral costs.

Through the Just Giving resource, the crowdfunding page has raised 395% of its projected goal.

The page reads,

“This page has been set to help cover the costs of bringing one of not only scotlands but the worlds most favourite Thai boxer home.

With the premisson from Jordan’s mum Lisa we are looking to raise as much as possible to ease the financial strain at this sad time.”

Fighters have been protesting the practices of weight cutting for some time now. The practice is largely viewed as dangerous to the health of the fighter.
