UFC Removes Top 5 Heavyweight From Rankings Following Failed Drug Test

Ultimate Fighting Championship has just wrapped up a major fight week with “UFC 209” that saw Tyron Woodley successfully defend his spot atop the welterweight division, just squeezing by with a decision win over Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. Their slow-paced back and forth war saw the fans grow restless and asking for more action just four fights removed from one of the most vicious knockouts of the night.

Alistair Overeem put Mark Hunt to sleep in the final round of their contest to cause some major shakeups in the heavyweight rankings. Perhaps one of the biggest changes in the rankings this week is the removal of Ben Rothwell who was ranked in the top five. A potential drug test failure had Rothwell removed from the rankings in speedy fashion. Check out the biggest changes in the rankings below:

Pound for Pound: Tyron Woodley hopped over Dominick Cruz, knocking him down one spot from eighth to ninth.

Heavyweight: Everybody from the heavyweight division ranked sixth and below were moved up a spot due to the removal of Rothwell. Overeem, ranked third, did not move up in the rankings. Marcin Tybura, previously unranked, made his first appearance on the rankings currently ranked at fifteenth.
