Team Alpha Male’s Darren Elkins made his way into the octagon at the T-Mobile Arena, fully prepared for his featherweight fight with Mirsad Bektic. Elkins’ performance tonight was that of a true warrior’s as he never gave up and kept pushing until he got the dominant win!

Neither man shied away from making their way to the center of the octagon in the early stages, and the feeling out process was brief.

Bektic charged forward, but Elkins was able to dip and dodge most of the shots all the while landing counters. The pace of Bektic’s strikes increased out of nowhere before he changed levels, shooting for a takedown which he secured. Bektic made his way to side control where Bektic landed a sharp elbow that sliced Elkins open to the right of his eye. Most of the blood poured to the right of his head, allowing the referee to let the fight continue.

Every time Bektic thought he had superior positioning, Elkins would show that he was able to escape danger until Bektic trapped him in the mounted crucifix. Again, Elkins showed great skills when he escaped danger by trapping the leg of Bektic, forcing him into half guard. Bektic postured up and fired off a left and right, both of which landed. Despite being covered in blood, Elkins was never counted out and made it clear he was able to adapt to any situation Bektic tried to put him in.

Elkins proved his toughness in the opening round, putting Bektic on notice that he could push forward no matter the pace of the fight. Elkins adapted and nearly locked in a guillotine choke before taking Bektic down to the mat where he battered him with short elbows and knees to the body.

Elkins nearly took the back of a standing Bektic along the fence, but the blood forced him to slip off. Elkins slowly turned the fight into a grueling scrap which Bektic could not deal with. Bektic went back to his bread and butter on the ground, hoping to slowly transition into an advantageous position. Elkins nearly locked in an anaconda choke but Bektic slipped out and the round ended.

Elkins charged back to the center of the octagon to take back control of the fight, and Bektic tried to utilize his takedown skills to make it to the end of the fight. Bektic shot multiple times to no avail, and he ultimately forced himself into Elkins’ best positions.

Bektic would go on to secure a takedown, but Elkins rolled through to lock in a leg lock! Bektic wiggled his way out but was trapped against the fence where Elkins teed off, right hand after right hand. He switched the attack to knees of the body of Bektic. Bektic tried to stand up and walk away, but Elkins caught him with a right hand, a head kick, and another shot that put Bektic to sleep!
