A Former Champ Calls It A Career — Retires From Mixed Martial Arts

Fans of the sport only get to watch the pain that fighters endure while inside the cage, not knowing just how much more difficult the path to the fight truly is. Fighters sacrifice their blood, sweat, and tears to put on a show under the bright lights and very few make it to the premier fight organization in the world.

Miguel “Angel” Torres was able to make himself a popular name in the mixed martial arts community without even having to fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Torres dominated the ranks in World Extreme Cagefighting defending his bantamweight championship three times.

Torres’ transition to the UFC after the ZUFFA buyout of UFC did not go as he had hoped, gathering a record of just 2-2 before exploring options outside of the octagon. Now, at thirty-six years old Torres has decided to hang up his gloves for good.

Long after he left the octagon, Torres continued to prove himself around the regional scene of the mixed martial arts community fighting for the likes of United Combat League, Rebel FC, and Titan FC on UFC Fight Pass. We here at MMA Imports would like to wish Torres the best in his future. He posted the following:
