Dana White Explains Why Conor McGregor Has A Chance to Dethrone Floyd Mayweather

UFC lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor is taking some time away from the Ultimate Fighting Championship. With a baby on the way, the champion is looking for a little down time. That being said, the fighter has been hunting for the payday of his career.

While taking a break from the UFC, Conor McGregor has been attempting to set up an enticing cross-promotional bout that would almost certainly be the payday of the lightweight champion’s career. For the fight, McGregor wants to beat boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather Jr. at his own game. He wants to face him in a boxing ring.

In a recent interview with Snoop Dogg on the GGN show, UFC President Dana White explained that he believes “Notorious” could take out the undefeated boxer. “At the end of the day it’s a fight. Floyd Mayweather is 40 years old. Conor McGregor is 27. Conor’s a big dude. Floyd has trouble with southpaws. Conor McGregor is a southpaw. And, Conor McGregor hits like a truck. When he hits you, you know it.” White said.

Continuing his explanation, Dana White stated “So, in no way, shape or form am I saying Conor McGregor wins this fight. I don’t know. But it’s more interesting than people think it is. … I promise you Conor McGregor will hit him. When they fight (Mayweather) will get hit, and it will be interesting to see what happens.”
