“Rumble” Gives A More In-Depth Explanation On Decision To Retire

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson shocked the KeyBank Center audience last night when he abruptly announced his retirement from the sport of mixed martial arts.

The No. 1 light heavyweight contender faced off against champion Daniel Cormier in a title fight rematch main event for UFC 210 last night. After losing to the champion, “Rumble” announced that this is the end of this MMA career.

During the post-fight interview, Johnson offered a few details on why he has decided to retire at what is arguably the prime of his mixed martial arts career.

During the press conference, Johnson explained that he wants to do something different with his time. The fighter does not want to go to the gym everyday and roll through the violent toil of the sport.

“(expletive) gets old.” Johnson said. “I’ve been in this sport since I was eight. It’s just time to move on to something different.”

Johnson squashed the recent rumor that he is moving on to play in the NFL. “And no, I am not about to play football for the Rams.”

The KO artist did not reveal what his new venture would be, but claimed that everything has its time.
