Swanson Taking Extended Leave From The UFC

After taking out Team Conor McGregor’s Artem Lobov in Saturday’s UFC on FS1 main event, Cub Swanson is planning to take an extended leave from competition.

Upon return, Cub is hoping that a UFC title shot is delivered.

He tells mmajunkie,

“I’m definitely going to take some time off, but I’m going to be training the whole time. I enjoy training at this point in my career. But realistically, (I won’t return) until late December or early next year. I think it would be a great fight,” he said. “I’ve studied him for a long time. I know what he’s good at; I know what I’m good at,” said Cub. “I know I can make any fight a war and make it my fight. I’m excited to do it again. I took a lot of lessons away from that fight, and some that have molded me into who I am – all my losses, really, but that one in particular. And I’d like to get it back.”

Cub is expecting a child with his partner Kendra Perez.
