And It’s Happened! Alvarez And Poirier Get Bitter On Twitter Following Controversial UFC 211 Fight

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier have begun talking trash to one another.

On Saturday, at UFC 211, Alvarez fought Poirier in one of the most exciting lightweight fights of the year. The two battled back-and-forth until the fight abruptly ended in the second round.

In the second round, Alvarez threw multiple illegal knees. After the knees landed, Poirier was no longer able to continue the fight.

Since the referee believed Alvarez didn’t know he was doing something illegal, the fight was ruled a no contest.

Since then, both fighters have agreed to fight again and have begun talking trash via social media.

“I owe you some stitches,” Poirier tweeted at Alvarez.

“Don’t get too excited Your not the first guy to hurt me badly before I finished him ..knee or no knee U wanted out,” Alvarez responded.

“I’m going to stop you next time,” Poirier said to end their exchange.
