UFC President has shared some information on the future of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
On Wednesday, White appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter and said it’s likely McGregor will fight in the UFC in 2017.
“Conor wants to fight,” White said. “Conor wants to fight Floyd. Conor wants to fight twice this year. We’ll just have to see how this thing plays out.”
White said he has hoping McGregor would fight Floyd “Money” Mayweather in a boxing match on September 16. However, with Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin happening on that day, the fight will not happen. White also says a deal between Mayweather and McGregor is far from being official.
