Despite Dana’s Confirmation, Johnson Says He Will Not Fighting TJ Dillashaw

On Tuesday, UFC President Dana White confirmed UFC Bantamweight Cody Garbrandt will no longer be defending his title against former champion TJ Dillashaw at UFC 213.

Garbrandt was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a back injury.

White also announced the UFC is trying to give Dillashaw a title opportunity against UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson.

However, Johnson tweeted that he is not interested in fighting Dillashaw.

“Just so the world know I haven’t agreed to anything still waiting on my contract to fight (Ray Borg) not (TJ Dillashaw) if he wants a title shot he can come to flyweight and get a win then get his turn,” Johnson tweeted on Tuesday.

Johnson is expected to headline UFC 215 on Aug. 18 in Seattle, Washington. The champion is expecting to defend his title against Ray Borg.

Johnson doesn’t like the idea of Dillashaw getting a title shot without ever fighting in the division. He does not think Dillashaw should get a title shot over a fighter who has a winning streak in the division.
