Gegard Mousasi Turns Down UFC’s First Offer — Remains A Free Agent

UFC middleweight contender Gegard Mousasi is still a free agent.

Mousasi recently revealed he was not happy with the offer the UFC made and declined their offer.

“It’s not good,” Mousasi said about the UFC’s offer on a recent episode of UFC Tonight. “We don’t like it.”

Mousasi is on a five-fight win streak in the UFC. He is coming off a TKO win over former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman. His win streak also includes victories over Thiago Santos, Thales Leites, Uriah Hall, and Vitor Belfort.

“I’m co-main event all the time, so it’s not like people don’t know me,” Mousasi said.

Mousasi has fought 12 times in the UFC, and 11 of those fights were either the main event or co-main event.

While on the show, Mousasi also showed interest in a fight against former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold.

When it comes to Mousasi’s free agent status, the middleweight contender revealed he has six weeks left in his exclusive negotiating period with the UFC. After that time is up, Mousasi will be free to sign with any MMA promotion.
