Nate Diaz’s Plan — ‘Have Conor fight Tony … Winner fights me’

Nate Diaz is apparently not interested in an immediate fight against UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson.

On Wednesday, during an interview with Ariel Helwani, Diaz suggested Ferguson should fight UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor. Then the winner of that fight should go on to fight himself.

“You guys need to fight each other and impress me,” Diaz said. “But, no one’s contacting me. It’s crazy!”

Diaz also revealed during the interview that he had accepted a fight against Ferguson at UFC 213 on July 8. However, the UFC would not agree to the terms. So as of now, the fight is not taking place. Diaz also said he doesn’t like the fight because he believes he would be doing McGregor’s work for him.

“If they want me to fight, first of all, I want a compliment,” Diaz said. “They want me to fight Tony Ferguson, but what the (expletive)? I’m going to come back and cover for Conor. I’m not covering for you bro. You best fight each other.”
