Rumor: UFC May Get Rid Of Women’s 145 Division

The UFC recently implemented a new female weight division into its ranks. The 145 pound featherweight division is a new edition to the mixed martial arts promotion, with Germaine de Randamie as the division’s champion. However, a new rumor suggests the division may be no more.

As reported by Middle Easy, the news source stated “Rumors are surfacing over the past weeks that UFC is already in talks of getting rid of the women’s 145-pound division and belt. As crazy at seems the promotion sources say the UFC may pause (or flat out delete) the division so they can focus more attention on the newly formed female 125 pound weight class.”

The UFC’s 125 pound female weight class will be debuted in the UFC’s next season of The Ultimate Fighter. The victor of the season will be declared the UFC flyweight champion.
