Shogun Wants To Avenge Last KO Loss

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua want to avenge his last loss in the UFC.

In Nov. 2014, Rua was knocked out by Ovince Saint Preux at a UFC Fight Night event in Brazil.

Since that loss, Rua has been unbeaten with three victories in the UFC. His current win streak has put him back towards the top of the UFC light heavyweight rankings.

Despite working his way back to title contention, Rua doesn’t necessarily have any particular contender he would like to fight. However, he does want another shot at Saint Preux.

“I have no one in mind, but I have a tough defeat against Ovince Saint Preux,” Rua told Tatame.com. “I think he’s a good guy, deserves all my respect. I was just very sad, so I would like to have a rematch with him in the near future.”

Rua is coming off a TKO win over Gian Villante in March. His win streak also includes decision wins over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Corey Anderson.
