“So You Want To Be A UFC Fighter?” — Team Alpha Male Experts Explain How You Get It Done

UFC featherweight prospect Andre Fili and Justin Buchholz, the head coach of Team Alpha Male, recently gave advice to regional MMA fighters who want to get signed by the UFC.

Fili and Buchholz discussed what the UFC looks for on a recent episode of Stud Radio.

“You have to have a good record and win excitingly,” Fili said. “Having an agent who actually has a good relationship with Sean Shelby (would help).

“So having good representation and have a good winning streak together and putting on exciting fights are things I think fighters should do.”

“A spectacular last performance that everyone is talking about. That will get you in the (expletive) UFC,” Buchholz said.

Buchholz then said it is important for fighters to stay ready. Many fighters get their first shot in the UFC by taking short notice fights. So Buchholz suggests that fighters stay ready and stay close to their weight class.

Buchholz said that good performances and staying ready are the two most important things for fighters to do if they want to be signed by the UFC.

“The third would just be your popularity or the marketability that they (UFC) see in you,” Buchholz said.
