Ballsy UFC Fighter Viking Offers To Fight Robbie Lawler On One Week’s Notice

UFC welterweight prospect Emil Weber Meek wants to fight former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler.

On Wednesday, the UFC confirmed a highly anticipated welterweight fight between Lawler and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone had been canceled. The fight was scheduled to take place July 8 at UFC 213. However, Cerrone suffered an injury and was forced to withdraw.

After hearing the news, Meek through his hat into the ring as a possible last-minute replacement for Lawler.

“I see you lost your playmate,” Meek wrote in a tweet directed at Lawler. “I’d be honored to stand and bang with you.”

Lawler has not fought since losing his UFC title last July. At UFC 201, Lawler lost his championship after being knocked out by current UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley.

Meek is currently on a four-fight win streak. In December, he made his UFC debut and defeated Jordan Mein at UFC 206.
