Controversy Erupts In Tonight’s Main Event, Lee Beats Chiesa via Bad Ref Stoppage

The UFC made its long-awaited return to Oklahoma City for a special Sunday edition of UFC Fight Night.

The event featured a combination of former champions, top contenders, and rising prospects.

In the main event, Michael Chiesa returned to the UFC, after 14 months away from the sport, to battled lightweight prospect Kevin Lee.

Chiesa threw a head kick early but missed his mark. He later landed a strong left jab. Chiesa then took Lee to the ground, but Lee quickly got to his feet. Lee went for a takedown of his own. Lee picked Chiesa up and slammed him to the mat. Chiesa was active off of his back. Eventually, Lee took Chiesa’s back. Lee threw punches and kept trying to secure Chiesa’s neck. Lee secured the rear-naked choke and finished the fight. Chiesa did not tap, but the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.

Official Result:

Kevin Lee def. Michael Chiesa by submission (Round 1)
