Cris Cyborg Reacts To Sudden Change In UFC 214 Opponent, Fighting Fighter From Lower Division

Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino is excited about her new opponent at UFC 214 on July 29.

On Tuesday, the UFC announced Invicta Featherweight Champion Megan Anderson was forced to withdraw from her scheduled UFC title fight at UFC 214. Replacing Anderson will be Invicta Bantamweight Champion Tonya Evinger.

“Tonya is a top-10 bantamweight and certainly deserves to be in a big platform,” Justino told Combate. “It will be a great fight and I believe that, with Tonya, it will be an even more exciting fight for the fans than the fight with Megan. The focus and the plan remain the same: going for the belt. Thank you to all my fans #CyborgNation.”

Justino and Evinger will fight for the vacant UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship. The UFC stripped Germaine de Randamie of the title due to her refusing to defend the championship against Justino.

UFC 214 will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will defend his title against Jon Jones in the main event.
