Dana White Gives A Much Needed Update On Cody Garbrandt’s Back Injury

UFC President Dana White recently gave an update on UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt.

During a recent interview with MMAjunkie, White revealed that Garbrandt’s back is getting better, and he expects Garbrandt to fight in the near future.

“His back is getting better,” White said about Garbrandt. “His back is progressing and I hope to have him back in October.”

Garbrandt was scheduled to defend his title against former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw on July 8 at UFC 213, but a back injury forced Garbrandt to withdraw from the fight.

Garbrandt won the UFC title back in December. At UFC 207, Garbrandt won a decision against then-champion Dominick Cruz.

At age 25, Garbrandt has already proved that he is the best fighter in his weight class. He is currently undefeated with 11 wins. He is a knockout specialist with nine of his wins coming by knockout or TKO. Garbrandt has notable knockout wins in the UFC against Takeya Mizugaki and Thomas Almeida.
