Dana White Hits ESPN’s “First Take” — ‘Conor will touch and hurt Floyd Mayweather’

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion has been hunting for an epic cross-promotional match up with boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather Jr. for some time now. The UFC lightweight champion is getting his wish.

Both fighters have signed the contracts, leading fans and fighters to begin voicing their thoughts on the incipient match up. Conor “Notorious” McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will face off on Aug. 26 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Now, UFC President Dana White has come forward with a statement on the match up. In an interview on ESPN’s First Take, Dana White explained that he believes Conor McGregor’s knockout power will be a deciding factor for the fighter.

“When he touches people, they go to sleep. If he can touch Floyd Mayweather in a 12 round fight, I think he will hurt him.” White said.
