Floyd Sparring Partner Believes McGregor Has the Power to Hurt Him

UFC lightweight prospect Kevin Lee believes UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has the punching power to hurt Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

McGregor will make his professional boxing debut against Mayweather on Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Lee has trained at Mayweather’s gym in the past. In a recent interview, Lee also said he might train with Mayweather to help him prepare for McGregor after his next fight.

“I do think he’s got the power to hurt him,” Lee said about McGregor. “People underestimate. Conor is big and he hits hard. I think a lot of people underestimate his power, but I think Floyd is way too smart to underestimate him.”

Lee went on to say even though he hopes Mayweather wins, a little part of him is rooting for McGregor since he’s also an MMA fighter.

Lee will headline his first UFC event on Sunday. Lee is scheduled to fight Michael Chiesa at a UFC Fight Night in Oklahoma City.
