Randy Couture Offers To Fight For Bellator, Wants On NYC Card As An Alternate

MMA legend Randy Couture is willing to come out of retirement and compete at Bellator: NYC.

On Thursday, Couture posted a photo of the Bellator: NYC poster on his Instagram page and offered to be an alternate for either the main event or co-main event.

Bellator: NYC takes place June 24. The event will air live on pay-per-view and will be Bellator’s first event at the historic Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Chael Sonnen is scheduled to fight longtime rival Wanderlei Silva in the main event. MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko will make his Bellator debut in the co-main event as he fights Matt Mitrione.

Couture is a UFC Hall of Famer and is arguably they most decorated fighter in UFC history. He is a three-time UFC heavyweight champion and a two-time UFC light heavyweight champion.

Couture last fought in 2011. He retired after a knockout loss to former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida.

Couture’s legendary career includes wins over Kevin Randleman, Vitor Belfort, Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Tim Sylvia, Brandon Vera, and Mark Coleman.
