Report: WWE Actively Pursuing A Mayweather vs. McGregor RAW Deal

The WWE is trying to get Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor to appear on an episode of Monday Night RAW.

Over the past couple of weeks, WWE has mentioned both Mayweather and McGregor on their weekly television programming. Most recently, WWE star Enzo Amore began trash talking McGregor on Twitter.

“You talk s*** and Floyd is going to knock it out of you. And if he doesn’t, I will,” Amore said in a tweet directed at McGregor.

WWE’s Triple H also sent out an invitation to both Mayweather and McGregor during a recent interview with Sky Sports.

“One thing Floyd Mayweather is, is entertaining. One thing Conor McGregor is, is entertaining, and it’s funny that you say it’s sports entertainment,” Triple H said. “I’d invite both guys to showcase what they do on Monday Night Raw because there is no bigger platform that they can have to show the world, and tell the world, who they are and why they’re the man.”

According to Dave Meltzer, of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE is trying to get both Mayweather and McGregor to appear on its flagship show.

Recently, it was made official that Mayweather and McGregor will compete in a historic boxing match that is likely to break pay-per-view records.

WWE has tried to work out a deal with McGregor in the past to make an appearance on their programming, but the two sides couldn’t agree on a deal when it came to money.

Mayweather has appeared on WWE programming on numerous occasions. Most notably, Mayweather competed at WrestleMania back in 2008. According to Meltzer, WWE paid Mayweather $2 million to wrestle a match against the Big Show.
