UFC 214: ‘Cormier vs. Jones II’ Loses Marquee Matchup, Thanks To Injury

UFC 214 has lost one of its marquee fights.

“The Korean Superboy” Doo Ho Choi and suffered an injury and is forced to withdraw from his pivotal featherweight matchup against Andre “Touchy” Fili.

It has been reported that Choi will be able to return to the UFC in late October. Choi is currently coming off a fight of the year candidate against Cub Swanson back in December. Prior to his loss to Swanson, Choi was unbeaten in the UFC. His career is highlighted by a knockout win over Thiago Tavares.

The UFC has yet to announce whether or not they will find a replacement to fight Fili. Last October, Fili earned the biggest win of his UFC career when he won a decision against Hacran Dias.

UFC 214 takes place July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier is scheduled to defend his title in the main event against former champion Jon Jones.
