UFC 215 Cancelled Following “Mighty Mouse’s” Refusal To Fight Dillashaw

It would appear that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has made some changes in their summer lineup of mixed martial arts events. Specifically, the mixed martial arts promotion has dropped an event initially marked for Aug.

In a statement provided on UFC.com, the promotion stated “UFC announced Monday that UFC 215 will take place on September 9 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

“The event marks the promotion’s first visit to Edmonton. An originally planned August Pay-Per-View event has been removed from the schedule.”

It is believed that a main event bout between UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and former UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw was initially set for a date in Aug. With “Mighty Mouse” having voiced that he has no interest in facing the former bantamweight champion, it would appear that the date has been scrapped all together.
