Felice Reveals How She Overcame Crippling Anxiety And Started Winning Fights

UFC strawweight contender Felice Herrig recently opened up about her issues with anxiety.

On Tuesday, Herrig shared a video on her Instagram page and talked about how she deals with anxiety.

“I’ve been pretty open to the world about the anxiety I’ve suffered with my whole life. It use to really affect my fighting,” Herrig wrote on her Instagram page.

“I wouldn’t even watch tape on my opponents because just watching them fight made me anxious. Stepping into the cage I would just see red and go after it hoping that my body would just do what it’s been trained to do. A huge difference in my game the past few fights is that I have found a way to relax my mind and body and just focus on my breathing.

“I practice it in the gym whether I’m between rounds in sparring, wrestling and even strength and conditioning I just focus on breath.”

Herrig’s new strategy seems to be working. She is currently on a three-fight win streak in the UFC. She is also ranked No. 11 in the official UFC women’s strawweight rankings.
