Another McGregor Sparring Partner Comes Forward, Says His Punching Power Is Drastically Overrated

Another one of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor’s boxing sparring partners says his power is overrated.

In a recent interview, Chris Van Heerden said he was not affected by McGregor’s punching power back when the two sparred against each other.

“I was not phased by his power at all,” Van Heerden said. “I’ve been in the ring with a lot of guys that can hit, and I’ve been hit way harder by guys wearing 16-ounce gloves and head gear on. I was not phased, so it’s difficult for me to say what his power is like because honestly, I was not phased.”

Months ago, Van Heerden leaked sparring footage between himself and McGregor because he was upset with people saying McGregor would have a chance in a fight with Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

McGregor will fight Mayweather in his professional boxing debut on Aug. 26 at the T-Moblie Arena in Las Vegas.
