Conor’s Very First Coach Tells The Story Of A Muddy Boot Wearing Kid Who Walked Into His Gym One Day

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion and MMA superstar Conor “Notorious” McGregor has decided to try his hand at a new challenge. The fighter will be taking on boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. inside a boxing ring. Not stopping with the domination of two separate UFC divisions, the UFC champion is set to take on the world of boxing on Aug. 26 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In anticipation for the highly anticipated cross-promotional match up, Showtime has provided an inside look into each fighter’s mentality and personal life leading up to the boxing match.

In the video below Conor McGregor’s first striking coach, Philip Sutcliffe Sr., can be heard giving his telling of meeting the UFC champion for the first time. There in his gym, Crumlin Boxing Club, Sutcliffe Sr. explained that McGregor was only a child when he first made his way to the boxing club.
