Khabib Breaks His Silence, Posts An Angry Statement In Response To UFC 216

UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov is not happy about not being involved in the next lightweight title fight.

This week, the UFC announced that lightweight contenders Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee will fight for an interim lightweight title at UFC 216 on Oct. 7.

On Thursday, Nurmagomedov released a statement sharing his thoughts on this situation.

“If someone thinks, that whole situation gonna affect me somehow, he’s wrong,” Nurmagomedov wrote on his Instagram page.

“I never get anything in my life easy and don’t even expect easy way. “It is what it is. Alhamdulillah, we moving forward.”

Nurmagomedov is currently ranked No. 1 in the official UFC lightweight rankings. He is undefeated with 24 wins and has eight wins inside the Octagon.

For the past few years, injuries and illness have stopped Nurmagomedov from competing on numerous occasions. Since 2014, Nurmagomedov has only fought three times. He is currently coming off a submission win over Michael Johnson back in November.
