Since 2016, Diaz has reached superstar status in the UFC after he defeated current UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor. Last year, at UFC 196, Diaz shocked the world when he submitted McGregor with a rear-naked choke. To this day, Diaz is the only fighter to have defeated McGregor inside the Octagon.

Before fighting McGregor, Diaz was one of the top lightweight contenders in the world. Diaz debuted in the UFC on the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter. Diaz went on to win the tournament and has fought the best fighters in the UFC for the past decade.

Diaz’s illustrious career is highlighted by wins over Takanori Gomi, Jim Miller, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Gray Maynard, and Michael Johnson. Diaz has also fought for the UFC Lightweight Championship.
