With Smaller Gloves, Conor’s Coach Predicts Death For Floyd Mayweather

On Wednesday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission approved Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor’s request to fight in eight-ounce gloves.

After the NSAC made their ruling, McGregor’s head coach, John Kavanagh, made a bold prediction of what may happen in their upcoming fight.

“If he dies, he dies,” Kavanagh said via a GIF on his Twitter.

With the two fighting in eight-ounce gloves, McGregor has predicted that it will take him less than two rounds to finish Mayweather in their upcoming fight.

Mayweather said he wanted to fight in smaller gloves because he didn’t want McGregor to have any excuses for when he loses.

McGregor is used to fighting in four-ounce gloves in the UFC. So the UFC champion is used to wearing smaller gloves.

With the fight happening at 154 pounds, they were originally scheduled to fight in 10-ounce gloves.

Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
