UFC Commentator Doesn’t Think We’ll See Khabib vs. Ferguson Until …

UFC commentator Jon Anik misses seeing UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson compete in the Octagon.

Ferguson has not fought in the UFC since last November. Since his decision win over former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos, Ferguson has been waiting for a title opportunity.

Ferguson was scheduled to fight fellow lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov for an interim title back in March, but Nurmagomedov withdrew from the fight due to illness.

Since then, Ferguson has been waiting for a fight against Nurmagomedov, but it seems that fight just can’t be made. Both fighters agreed to fight in November at UFC 217. However, Ferguson claims Nurmagomdov’s team turned down the fight, while Nurmagomedov says Ferguson doesn’t want the fight.

On Wednesday, Anik was asked on Twitter about all the potential Ferguson fights fans have missed out on while he’s been chasing a title fight.

“Was thinking the same thing,” Anik said. “I may just send him a replica belt at this point to make myself feel better.”

Another person then responded to Anik’s tweet with a fight poster suggesting when Ferguson and Nurmagomedov will finally meet inside the Octagon.
