Fresh Off Melendez Win, Jeremy Stephens Eyeing Fight Against Former Champion Jose Aldo

UFC featherweight contender Jeremy Stephens is interested in a fight against former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo.

Last Saturday, at UFC 215, Stephens earned an impressive win against Gilbert Melendez. Following his win, Stephens talked to the media and said he would love to fight Aldo.

However, Aldo has made it known he wants to fight in November at UFC 217, and Stephens probably won’t be ready by then due to him getting married soon. Stephens had already postponed his wedding to fight Melendez and doesn’t want to postpone it again.

“I would love that fight, but November, it’s a little tight on my schedule, and I can’t push two things back,” Stephens said. “So December or January, something like that – that would be something I’d definitely look forward to. He’s a banger and a class act.

“I think me and him could get it on and give the fans a great showing. But I just can’t do November. I can’t keep pushing things back.”
