List Of Problems Causing Paige VanZant To Pull Out Of UFC 216 Just Got MUCH Longer…

UFC star Paige VanZant was hoping to make her debut at 125lbs against Jessica Eye at UFC 216, but a report a few days ago revealed that VanZant would be pulling out due to injury.

The injury was a herniated disc that needed a few months of physical therapy to heal, but it looks like VanZant is currently suffering through much more than just the disc problem. Paige jumped on Twitter to tell her fans about everything she’s currently going through, and the list is quite long.

“When it rains it pours. Herniated disc, double ear infection, sinus infection, pink eye and ringworm all right now! ? send me good vibes.”

VanZant was hoping to reinvent herself in the UFC’s newly formed flyweight division after suffering through some very dangerous weight cuts.

“It’s a big cut for me. I’m a lot heavier than people realize,” she said to The MMA Hour. “I was honestly killing myself for this sport. In my last I want to say two fights or three fights, I’ve passed out in my bathroom. This last one, I passed out and had the doctors almost not cleared me for the fight. “I’m a big advocate for body positivity, and I was putting myself through an eating disorder to make weight,” she continued. “And it became not fun for me anymore. I hate cutting. I hated the process. Obviously, passing out on your bathroom floor is not fun, because you’re dying in a bathtub.”

Despite the setbacks, VanZant wanted to stay busy and definitely was looking to fight this year. In fact, following the news of her recent back injury she told MMAfighting.com that she has no preference in opponent and will fight anyone the UFC gives her.

“Depending on my healing timeline, I’ll fight anyone who is available,” VanZant said.
