“Platinum” Mike Perry Latest Welterweight To Put Colby Covington In His Place, Wins Today’s Internet For It

“Platinum” Mike Perry is the latest welterweight fighter to exchange insults with welterweight contender Colby Covington on Twitter.

Earlier this week, Covington sent out a tweet mocking Perry. He said “he let an underwear model have his way with him” referring to his one UFC loss to Alan Jouban. Covington also said Perry would get knocked out by Thiago Alves.

After seeing Covington’s tweet, Perry responded and put Covington in his place.

“You’re fights suck so bad. All you do is hug your opponents for 15 minutes. You’re coach about to retire,” Perry said in a tweet directed at Covington.

Perry is scheduled to fight UFC newcomer Alex Reyes at a UFC Fight Night event on Sept. 16. He was scheduled to fight Alves in the co-main event, but Alves was forced to withdraw from the fight just three days before the event.

Covington is currently ranked No. 8 in the official UFC welterweight rankings. He is scheduled to fight former title challenger Demian Maia at a UFC Fight Night event in Brazil on Oct. 28.
