After This Week’s Three-Days Notice Cancellation, Alves Now UFC’s Biggest Pull-Out Artist In History

Former UFC title challenger Thiago Alves will no longer be competing this weekend.

Alves was scheduled to fight “Platinum” Mike Perry in the co-main event of a UFC Fight Night event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Sept. 16. However, three days before the fight, Alves was forced to withdraw from the bout.

After pulling out of his scheduled fight with Perry, Alves now holds the UFC record for pulling out of the most fights.

Alves’ withdraw from his fight with Perry was the eighth time he withdrew from a UFC fight. With his eight withdraws, he surpasses Ian McCall, Alessio Sakara, and Thiago Tavares, who all pulled out of seven UFC fights.

A user on Reddit shared a list of Alves’ fight cancellations on the MMA subreddit. Below, you can see all the fights Alves withdrew from and see what his reason was for pulling out.
