Frankie Edgar Is Not A Fan Of His New UFC Poster . . . Here’s Why!

Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is on a quest to collect his second UFC title, this time at 145lbs. Edgar has climbed to the top of the featherweight division before but has never been able to win the title. In fact, the only fighter Edgar has suffered defeat to in the division is former champion Jose Aldo though on two separate occasions.

Edgar’s two fight win streak over Jeremy Stephens and fast rising Yair Rodriguez was enough to get him another crack at the title but this time he’s challenging Max Holloway for the gold.

“He’s a stud,” Edgar said in an interview with UFC.com. “Just look at his record, it speaks volumes about what kind of fighter he is. And he’s so young, so he’s still coming into his own. It’s going to be a tall mountain to climb, but this is the spot I’m always in, it’s a spot that I relish and I look forward to proving people wrong again.”  He continued, “The fact that I haven’t taken my sights off that title and being number one, it will all be worth it when I get the title. I always feel like I put a hundred percent into everything I do and I do everything the right way, but I feel that if I don’t get this title, I’ll have some regret, and I don’t want to live with that.”

UFC 218 is already shaping up to be one of the biggest fight cards of the year and the promotion just released the fight poster for the event. Featured on the poster are co-main event fighters Alistair Overeem and Francis Ngannou, along with Frankie Edgar and champion Max Holloway, and it seems only Frankie Edgar thinks the UFC got the poster all wrong.
