Jose Aldo vs. Ricardo Lamas Booked For UFC’s Return Trip To Canada

It would appear that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has locked in another exciting match up for one of the mixed martial arts promotion’s up coming fight cards. This time, Jose Aldo will be facing off against Ricardo Lamas in December.

“Scarface” lost his featherweight title back in 2015 after suffering his infamous knockout loss to Conor McGregor. Though McGregor dropped the featherweight title after earning the lightweight belt in a battle with Eddie Alvarez. Following a decision victory over Frankie Edgar, Aldo was set to unify his title once again in a match up against Max Holloway. But, Holloway took out Aldo for a TKO victory.

With Holloway not solidified as the reigning featherweight champion, Jose Aldo is looking to make his way back up to title contention. For his next fight, Aldo will be taking on Ricardo Lamas.

As reported by TSN, Jose Aldo and Ricardo Lamas will face off at UFC on FOX 26. The event goes down December 16 in Winnipeg, Canada. In the night’s main event, former champions Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos will battle it out for division dominance.

Lamas and Aldo have faced off once before, with “Scarface” earning a unanimous decision victory his opponent in 2014. That being said, Lamas is now on a two fight winning streak and will undoubtedly be looking to keep his momentum on the rise. Most recently, Lamas earned a TKO victory over Jason Knight.
