Dressed In Jail Clothes, UFC’s Volkan Oezdemir Has His Day In Court | Replay

Top UFC contender Volkan Oezdemir was involved in a bar fight over the weekend, and is now facing charges of Aggravated battery, in Florida.

The alleged “victim” is a man identified as Kevin Cohen. It is currently unclear what prompted the fight, but prosecutors said Cohen had sustained swelling and received cuts on his head from the fight.

The UFC commented on the situation, stating, “UFC is aware of the situation involving light heavyweight athlete, Volkan Oezdemir. The organization is in the process of gathering more information and will be monitoring the situation closely before determining if any further action is necessary.”

Daniel Cormier revealed that the 28-year-old mixed martial artist is next on his list of opponents, following a social media poll posted by Cormier to his fans. That being said, it is unclear how the fighter’s recent arrest will affect any potential booking against the champion in the future.
