ONE Boss Blasts The UFC For Their ‘Weekly Scandals, Jailed Fighters, Cocaine Abuser’ … And More

Chatri Sityodtong is the founder, chairman and CEO of ONE Championship. The mixed martial arts promotion has spread throughout the eastern world to become Asia’s largest sports media property. Speaking at the ONE: Immortal Pursuit press conference, Sityodtong had some choice words concerning the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has had a few issues with some fighters as of later. Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva recently failed his second drug test, pulling the fighter out of the promotions’ debut event in Shanghai. Jon Jones was recently stripped of the light heavyweight title for failing another drug test. Light heavyweight contender Volkan Oezdemir was recently arrested for allegedly assaulting a bar patron in Florida.

For Chatri Sityodtong, the things going on outside of the cage is what separates the UFC from ONE Championship. Speaking on the UFC, Sityodtong said:

“They have weekly scandals, people in jail or people on drugs, or whatever, cocaine this that and the other.” said Sityodtong. “That is unacceptable at ONE Championship.”
