Rose Namajunas Knocks Out Joanna Jedrzejczyk In Round 1

Fight fans are gathered together in the Madison Square Garden Arena for tonight’s exhilarating UFC 217 event. The night is set to feature the octagon return of former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, as the fighter makes his middleweight debut against reigning champion Michael “The Count” Bisping. However, that is not the only title fight from the night.

For the first title fight of UFC 217, UFC strawweight Joanna Jedrzejczyk will be looking to defend her title from tough contender “Thug” Rose Namajunas.

The first round kicked off with Namajunas sizing her opponent up with a series of jabs. Jedrzejczyk methodically took her time gauging her opponent’s reach. The fighters entered a short exchange before the end of the first two minutes of the fight. Namajunas stunned her opponent with a devastating punch, bringing the fighter to the ground.

After getting caught by Namajunas, Jedrzejczyk quickly made her way back to her feet. But, Namajunas managed to rush her opponent to the fence with another series of damaging strikes.

Namajunas then earned a finish over her opponent as she delivered a final stunning blow. Officially, we have a new champion.
