The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has put another exciting night of fights in the books. This time around, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion took a trip to Las Vegas, Nev. for UFC 219. The highly anticipated fight card went down on Saturday night, Dec. 30, inside the T-Mobile Arena for the excited Las Vegas crowd. The headliner from the night’s fight card now has fights fans and fighters alike speaking up. For the fight, Holly Holm and Cris Cyborg went toe-to-toe for a brutal octagon war. While Holm lost the match up, UFC fighters have decided to go to social media to show their support for the fighter’s efforts.
Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm recently pulled herself out of a three fight losing streak with a big knockout victory over Bethe Correia. The former title holder has since entered a few heated social media exchanges with reigning UFC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg. Following the growth of their rivalry, the two MMA warriors were booked to headline Saturday night’s UFC 219.
Holm gave Cyborg a war, with both fighters taking away some serious damage from their battle that ultimately went the distance. Cyborg walked away with a unanimous decision victory over her opponent, but many of the UFC’s competitor’s have since come forward to share their support for Holm’s performance in the night’s main event.
