UFC’s Fighter’s React to Diego Sanchez’s Charity Fight with Down Syndrome Fighter

Mixed martial arts veteran Diego Sanchez has been putting on wars inside the cage for year. “The Nightmare” is on a big of a losing streak at the moment, having suffered the first vicious knockout losses of his career to Al Iaquinta and Matt Brown. That being said, Sanchez more recently faced off in a match outside of the octagon. Now fighters are offering their reactions to the situation.

Sanchez was recently granted permission by UFC President Dana White to fight outside of the promotion for a special event.

Sanchez’s teammate Isaac Marquez was born with Down Syndrome. That being said, the man works hard as a member of Team Jackson to train his skills in mixed martial arts. On Friday, Dec. 1, Diego Sanchez granted his teammate’s wish to one day fight a MMA star inside the cage for an audience.

Marquez would go on to defeat Sanchez by submission via an armbar, creating a touching moment for the local crowd and for fight fans worldwide. Now a few notable competitors from the world of mixed martial arts have decided to share their thoughts on the occasion.

UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley recently took to Twitter to give the MMA veteran some respectful words.

UFC veteran Paul Redmond also offered his respect to Sanchez for the recent event.

“Legend.”

Award winning MMA reporter Ariel Helwani event took to Twitter to congratulate Sanchez on the match.

“Well done, Diego.”

Diego Sanchez is now 27-11 in his storied career in the sport of mixed martial arts.
